Arizona, a state in the Southwest that borders Mexico, was admitted into the Union in 1912. It has a beautiful, sunny climate and today it continues to attract new people and businesses every day. The local cuisine is a mix of Tex-Mex and California, but of course with such a blend of cultures there are opportunities for chefs of every persuasion.
There are several culinary and hospitality degree programs in Arizona, as well as plenty of employment opportunities. There are several good-size cities with a mix of restaurants, and Arizona also has a number of spas, ranches and other get-away spots that usually have well-trained chefs and their staff prepare healthy food in abundance.
