A faboulous aspect of the city of Tallahassee is that everything seems to be a mixture of old and new, tempered with a Southern pace and attitude that is not typically found in Florida. This combination means that students in the Culinary Arts can study cuisines featuring new cooking styles, or simply learn the basics of "down home" cooking. Even the tourism industry can be considered old and new with a combination of newer corporate hotels, family-owned lodges, and grand style inns, providing 5000 rooms in the city. Students of Hospitality Management internship programs can find this diversity to be important in learning about different management styles for various-sized hotel operations.
